What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN, FT ASU St. Mary position at Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic?
St. Mary has an opening for a full time RN in ASU. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of care in the post operative setting. Plan and perform all nursing care for patients who will undergo surgery and other procedures.
- Monitor and recognize changes in patient conditions.
- Perform nursing duties as needed to support surgical patients including but not limited to: thorough pre-op patient assessment, patient and family education, initiation of IV, and medication administration.
- Reviews pertinent chart data and assesses patient on admission. Demonstrates a working knowledge of the scheduled procedure.
- Utilizes information obtained to modify planned care and notifies appropriate departments of pertinent information (i.e. potential latex allergy, MRSA, etc.).
- Admits patients in a timely manner, prioritizing admission based on actual surgery times.
- Competent in all anesthesia procedures.
- Adapts to varied age specific patient populations, eg, pediatric, adult, etc.
- Competent in all anesthesia procedures.
- Provides concise discharge instructions and patient teaching including follow-up referrals
- On-call for off shifts, weekends and Holidays.
