Description:
Provide high quality courier services for all clients. Individual is responsible for pick-up and delivery of specimens, reports and supplies for client locations according to department/company procedures. Individual is also responsible to keep courier vehicles clean, perform basic maintenance checks and report any irregularities to the immediate supervisor. Individual is also responsible to accurately account for all items picked-up and delivered using manual (paper) or electronic data collection devices.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
One to two years' courier experience preferred.
Must have active driving privileges.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organizational Mission, Core Values, and Vision in behaviors, practices, policies and decisions.
Distribution of specimens, supplies, or correspondence to various departments, physicians and hospitals.
Handle Medical Specimens according to policy.
Ability to use company supplied technology including but not limited to; two-way radios, in field scanning equipment, mobile handheld devices, mobile printers and Pocket PC type devices.
Safely operate a motor vehicle in Urban, Suburban and Rural environments.
Able to change a flat tire and perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.
Able to handle stressful situations in regards to weather conditions, traffic and on-demand customer pick-up requests.
Regularly exposed to the risk of blood-borne diseases and therefore require the use of personal protective equipment.
Exposure to odorous chemicals and specimens. Contact with patients in a wide variety of circumstances.
