General Definition and Scope of Job
The Environmental Services Aide function is to perform a variety of general cleaning tasks to achieve a high standard of cleanliness. The Aide also assists and is an integral part of the facilities infection control program. This position interacts directly with patients, staff and visitors on a daily basis.
JOB STATUS:
- Full Time, 80 hours per pay period - 1st and 3rd shifts available!
What are the Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements?
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- On-the-job training experience preferred.
- Able to comprehend written and oral communication.
- Must have good infection control understanding.
- Healthcare housekeeping experience preferred.
What are the Critical Demands of the Job?
- Must be able to stand 90% of shift.
- Must be able to operate a vacuum cleaner with repetitive push pull motion.
- Must be able to comprehend written and oral instructions and safety procedures.
- Must be able to document work performed and follow guidelines for such documentation.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, bend down and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of 30 pounds.
- Job entails considerable reaching, stooping, lifting, bending, kneeling and crouching.
- Must be able to operate equipment such as Taski carpet extractors.
- Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
What are the Working Conditions?
- Repetitive push and pull motion throughout shift.
- Repetitive bending and lifting 30 pounds.
- Majority of work is conducted indoors, may have occasion to work outdoors.
- Working with cleaning chemicals.
