GeGeneral Summary: The Surgical Physician Assistant will work in a team structure to provide the following:
Surgical assistance in the operating room upon request to any surgeon with a delegation agreement. Daily post-operative rounding and follow-up with the attending surgeon. The PA is responsible for admission History and Physical examinations, daily progress notes, daily orders, and discharge summaries for all patients admitted to them by the attending surgeon. Evaluation of patients in the Emergency Room and on the surgical floor at the request of the attending surgeon. Performance of bedside procedures including central venous catheter placement, tube thoracostomy, arterial catheter placement and peripherally inserted central catheters when credentialed to perform such procedures.
Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
Needs to be available for 16 hours per week PRN
Must maintain current licensing as Physician Assistant from the State of Maryland. Must qualify for prescriptive authority. Must have operating room experience. Must possess excellent communication skills. Must function well in a team environment.
