The Simulation Coordinator supervises day-to-day simulation/skills training, including: scheduling training sessions, meetings, scenario development needs, routine maintenance and upkeep of the Center, equipment, and supplies. They ensure the goals and objectives of the center are met in accordance with established limitations or specifications of priorities, time, and funding. Collaborates with MCHS staff, Simulation staff and faculty to identify course objectives and expected student outcomes for simulation activities. They also create and program simulations for all Simulation Center customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional support in the clinical skills and simulation labs for physicians, students and faculty to improve competencies and skills in meeting course objectives through simulation.
  • Incorporate best practice and evidenced-based research in program development with a focus on standardization and efficiencies across the healthcare continuum
  • Seek out and supervise clinical skills and simulation experiences
  • Develop and conduct evaluation of the effectiveness in providing simulation learning
  • Attend meetings/committees, preparing presentations and submitting reports, as requested.
  • Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to plan for efficient and effective progression of the Simulation Center.
  • Monitors cost-effective use of human and material resources.
  • Maintains responsibility and accountability for optimal levels of patient outcomes, fiscal responsibility and customer service.
  • Creates and coordinates complex schedules, calendars, activities, and events
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated hospital-based simulation experience (above and beyond the basic requirement).
  • Licensure / Certification: Clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Paramedic, active licensure/certification highly preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years' hospital-based and/or healthcare-based academic simulation experience, including high-fidelity simulation programming and utilization of skills training equipment.
  • Demonstrating effective leadership, communication, and team-building with multidisciplinary teams across a health system.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development, implementation, debriefing and evaluation
  • Evidence of ability to teach and supervise clinical experiences effectively
  • Specific knowledge of simulation technology, equipment, and education
  • Ability to lead others and to give timely, constructive, and specific feedback as a team player.
  • Ability to work some week night and weekend programs, as needed.
