Come join the Surgical Scheduling team at Mercy Medical Center, part of Trinity Health Of New England!!Position Purpose
The Surgical Scheduler is responsible for scheduling surgical procedures, including, pre and postoperative visits under the direction of the provider. Processes include obtaining accurate procedure, demographic and insurance information. Also, responsible for working with multiple physician practices and Hospital departments.
What you will do
Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner
Accurately registers patients ensuring that the information required is obtained confirming identity, address, phone numbers, PCP, insurance, co-pay and other pertinent information in order to complete patient registration.
Ensure that the patient flows through the scheduling and registration process as quickly as possible ensuring all registration and financial requirements are completed in a consistent manner.
Acts as a liaison for patients with questions regarding appointments, procedures outside of clinic, clinical flow and staff knowledge.
Schedules surgical procedures, including, pre and postoperative visits under the direction of the provider during downtime
Minimum Qualifications
High School Graduate; Associates preferred
2-5 years Healthcare office experience
Familiarity with electronic health records
Medical terminology knowledge required. Prior surgical scheduling experience preferred but not required
