About the job:

Serves as an internal expert in quality IT support systems including Business Objects, P-IE and the Advisory Board Crimson Continuum of Care web-based product. Is responsible to coordinate processes associated with benchmarking tools in use in various entities.
What you will do:
- Is responsible for the production, distribution and analysis of various analytical reports to support clinical and quality improvement efforts that includes but is not limited to service line reports, patient satisfaction, core measure reporting, Infection Prevention, Risk Management & Patient Safety, outcomes measurement, utilization efficiency (i.e., physician variation in cost by DRG, Procedure, etc.), physician specific outcomes and many other adhoc/routine analyses.
- Utilizes key databases and systems to develop analytical reports and/or to support functions within the department of Quality, Infection Prevention, Risk Management, Patient Safety, Clinical Informatics and Medical Staff Services., including but not limited to Business Objects, Quantros, NHSN, Morrissey Credentialing, and the Advisory Board Crimson Continuum of Care web-based product.
- Coordinates and facilitates implementation of the Advisory Board Crimson software product for Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and performance improvement profiles (i.e., practitioner, group-practices, departments and hospital-wide).
- Oversees the software training program to ensure effective utilization of the Crimson product; serves in a consultative/advisory capacity to facilitate learning and ongoing implementation of the training.
- Enhances the Crimson product within Mercy as a tool for clinical integration and alignment between hospitals and physicians to prepare for healthcare reform, clinical innovation, bundled payments, population health, etc. and to support the practice of Evidence-Based Medicine.
- Supports hospital and medical staff performance improvement initiatives and teams through:
- Data collection, statistical analysis and identification of variances in the clinical management of patients
- Development of operational scorecards, reports, and dashboards that reflect established service standards and metrics
- Identification of opportunities and solutions to improve data analytics and efficiency of reporting.
- Collaborates with administration, physicians, nurses and other organizational leadership team members to plan, discuss, interpret and provide them with statistical reports and to fulfill special requests for information, analyses, etc. to meet existing and emerging needs of the organization.
- Presents reports to organizational committees and teams as well as individual physician providers.
- Performs research to identify appropriate benchmark targets to monitor cost, utilization and other quality and performance indicators.
- Is knowledgeable of and actively participates in improving patient safety and reducing risk to patient safety. Complies with Safety and Infection Control Policies and Procedures.

- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Mercy and Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
What we are looking for:
- Requires a bachelor degree in health administration, business administration, health information management, computer science or related degree.
- Must have a minimum of three to five years of analytic experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong analytic and detail-oriented skills in areas that include producing, utilizing and conducting healthcare data analytics/informatics, business intelligence, quality or performance improvement concepts with the ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to inform and guide organizational decision-making.
- Strong knowledge of health care data reporting and analysis such as benchmarking and risk stratification.
- Requires a high functioning skill level of computer software experience (spreadsheets, databases, statistical software, presentation graphics, etc.), with exceptional Excel skills for the purpose of quantitative analysis are required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present data and ideas in an organized, understandable format to hospital and medical staff.
