We have an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities Department as a Buildings and Grounds Associate! We have both full-time and part-time positions available.
How you will impact the School
As a Buildings & Grounds Team Member, you will have hands-on responsibility for the care, maintenance, and upkeep of our buildings and grounds.
What you’ll do:
- mow, edge, prune, trim, weed, and mulch the lawns and the garden beds;
- snow removal during inclement weather
- repair interior and exterior structures, signage, and/or walkways and throw out garbage and debris
- operate & maintain the Zamboni, repair the ice surface with a mechanical edger, and sharpen skates.
- make special events “special” (working extra hours as needed, performing set-up/clean-up duties, sharing information and resources and meeting deadlines.
- work safely! (following safety rules, using PPE, cleaning/abating hazards and spills, submitting maintenance requests and using equipment properly)
- learn new skills
- model positive behavior by responding to requests in a timely manner and cooperating with colleagues.
- perform other tasks as necessary
You’ll be good at your job if:
- you are at least 18 years old,
- able to read, write and follow instructions
- know how to safely operate equipment such as utility and pickup trucks, snowplows, snowblowers, chain saws, power saws, pole pruners, edgers, hedge trimmers, zero-turn lawnmowers, and spreaders
- are positive, friendly and deliver excellent results with little or no directions
- take pride in your work and are willing to go above and beyond
- can work when it’s hot and when it’s cold
- are able to follow a flexible schedule based on the needs of the School (some weekends, evenings and work overtime as needed);
- can lift, carry, push, pull up to 70 pounds as well as climb stairs and ladders and walk on uneven surfaces;
- report to work on time and as scheduled;
- observe legal and defensive driving practices
It will be amazing if you can do light carpentry, painting, plumbing, and minor electrical assignments (replacing switches, ballasts, bulbs and fixtures).

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
