Job Title: Media Specialist

Summary:
Trinity School is a co-educational, independent, Catholic school for students in grades PreK-3 through
8th grade. It is a place where children learn to love learning and teachers teach children what they need for life. Its 48-acre tranquil campus is located in an environment that fosters the educational process.

This curriculum incorporates both family and religious values. Trinity is currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Media
Specialist position for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage purchasing, cataloging and circulating collection (~11,000 volumes).
- Manage library department budget.
- Coordinate with admin team to acquire and maintain online resources.
- Develop, document, and implement weekly lesson plans in information and media literacy for grades Pre-K3 to 8th consistent with curriculum and best practices.
- Collaborate with preschool and primary school faculty to enhance literacy instruction.
- Provide grade appropriate instructions to meet the needs to diverse learners.
- Implement techniques to motivate, challenge, and engage students of varying abilities to become lifelong learners and readers.
- Plan and coordinate an annual book fair.
- Supervise library volunteers.
- Establish reasonable standards for student mastery and achievement.
- Utilize school’s learning management system to post assignments and resources for each class in middle school.
- Update electronic grade book weekly for middle school.
- Respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
- Actively participate in faculty meetings, in-service learning, retreats, and school committees.
- Assist in actively supervising students during arrival/dismissal, recess, cafeteria, etc.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
- Effectively integrate technology into instruction.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in School Library Science or a related field.
Experience with educational technology tools.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Current MSDE certification.
Teaching experience.
Experience in a Catholic or independent school setting.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolong periods of time.
Physical stamina and dexterity.
Additional Notes:
Salary commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for full-time benefits. The successful candidate will be required to complete Criminal Justice Information Services background check, and
MSDE employment history review.
