What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at Trinity School?
Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks lifeguards throughout the school year and for Summer Camp.
Reporting to the Director of Aquatics, the lifeguard is primarily responsible for the safety and well-being of all patrons within the pool area during Swim Club and Physical Education and Fitness classes as well as during Athletic and Special Events.
Lifeguard positions are part-time/hourly and non-exempt.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Current and valid Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED certifications;
- Ability to provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services;
- Preparation of all required paperwork including accident/incident reports/timesheets;
- Attendance of staff meetings and in-house trainings.
Qualified candidates will possess strong communication and organizational skills, high standards of customer service, and be enthusiastic and motivated. Lifeguards should maintain a level of physical fitness that allows for the performance of lifeguard duties in an efficient manner.

Hourly salary range: $20 - $25 per hour (based on experience)
