Overview (Scope of Role)
The Financial Analyst role will provide financial support to the Manufacturing (Operations) organization, consisting of 30 manufacturing sites across 12 countries around the globe. In this position, the Financial Analyst will be a decision maker with the functional leaders, segment global leadership teams and business management teams on the development of the operational and financial strategy of the functions. They will act as a catalyst instilling a financial approach and mindset throughout the organization, translating operational metrics into measures of performance, while taking action and accountability in executing on short-term and long-term objectives.
This position will be located in Berwyn, PA and report to the Director of Supply Chain Services and Operations.
Responsibilities
Control and monitor operational fixed cost & capital spend
- Evaluate and track KPIs around functional spend and functional performance such as fixed cost & capital spend, best plant spend comparisons, operating rates, repair factor, energy intensity, prime yield, asset reliability, and cost of quality.
- Provide data and insights to functional and commercial teams while drive actions for improvement.
Annual budget and five-year planning
- Lead planning process for the Manufacturing and EH&S functions.
- Determine strategic initiatives, challenge assumptions and outputs, coordinate schedule and format deliverables, and prepare communications for senior leadership.
Update and communicate monthly forecasts
- Review forecast submissions with functional and business leaders and prepare communications for senior leadership.
- Challenge assumptions, evaluate options, and drive actions for improved performance.
Monthly closing and results analysis
- Evaluate monthly actual results and deviations from forecasts.
- Prepare communication for functional management and senior leadership
Capital investment, M&A & Divestitures, R&D pipeline strategic analysis
- Responsible for proper evaluation of all Manufacturing and EH&S business cases, capital investments and M&A & Divestiture activities.
- Evaluate strategic fit, ensure analytical consistency, and prepare communications for ELT and BOD.
Compliance, Control & SOX
- Maintain a culture of regulatory compliance and adherence to internal policies and procedures and the SOX processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, or Accounting.
- Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in finance field.
- Prior manufacturing cost accounting experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
- Strong analytical ability with deep understanding of financial analysis, concepts, and applications.
- Proven ability to understand business strategy as well as macro-economic trends and how they impact business strategy, results, and forecasts.
- Knowledge required in areas such as project (NPV, IRR, payback), operational including currency, and M&A & Divestitures analysis.
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid understanding of accounting.
- Must have a global perspective.
