Municipal Construction Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Tristar is hiring a Construction Manager with solid experience in the oversight and inspection of public works construction projects for city development. This position does not require a PE.

Experience should include utility (water, reclaimed water, sewer, force main, signal and fiber optic) experience for current projects and additional projects on the horizon. Experience in application of principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering as they relate to the construction of drainage systems, water and reclaimed water systems, sanitary sewer systems, asphalt and concrete paving, and signalized intersection improvements.

Excellent communication skills are required to work with other engineers, project managers, contractors and inspection staff overseeing and documenting field construction of municipal infrastructure projects. These skills must include the effective use of various computer software that enhance the project management process of monitoring the scope, schedule and budget to complete projects successfully.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the Owner’s Representative for municipal and private development, overseeing construction administration and inspection teams.
• Oversee roadway, pedestrian, underground utility, civil site construction.
• Coordinate with utility companies, municipal engineers, and project teams.
• Conduct site/field inspections of project locations to ensure project plans are adhered to.
• Perform technical research and investigation.
• Ensure public works projects follow entire QA/QC processes.
• Interpret construction contract documents to determine contractor entitlement.

Skills/Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Construction or similar with 10 years of experience.
• Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with external clients.
• Ability to travel throughout the Phoenix Metro area for team meetings, client on-site inspections.
• Meticulous with strong follow through.
• Nice to have: PE but not required.
