Job Summary and Qualifications
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Determines O.R. time needed for the procedure and works with Facility to ensure procedure is scheduled, daily schedule is streamlined and arranges necessary anesthesia coverage, as determined through Facility processes. Ensures all requirements for the procedure have been obtained and confirmed with the Facility or other parties to include medical/imaging records and needed equipment/instruments.
- Ensures scheduling packets are correct and timely.
- Obtain patient surgical information and submit to appropriate facility and/or OR staff to schedule surgery
- Verifies/confirms physician is credentialed at the Center or Facility before scheduling the patient.
- Ensures efficient coordination of provider clinic and Facility schedule which could include awareness of provider’s schedule and coordination of provider time-out, travel, meetings, conferences and continuing medical education.
- Refers conflicts and procedural questions to Practice Manager or designee as they arise.
- Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES – This position requires the following minimal requirements
- Knowledge of accepted nursing standards and practices.
- Knowledge of basic pharmacology.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Skill in providing patient care in accordance with the facility’s applicable standards, policies and procedures.
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and non-verbal and the ability to concisely summarize.
- Ability to present a positive image of the practice and facility.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, peers, physicians, and family members.
EDUCATION
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
EXPERIENCE
- From one to three years’ experience as a nurse is preferred.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
- Must be licensed as a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with state regulations
