Consumer Underwriter

Seeking a qualified individual to underwrite consumer loan requests to include: auto, motorcycle, RV, unsecured and home equity lines of credit. This individual will be a consumer loan product and procedure expert.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Underwrite consumer loan applications using established policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with Consumer Loan Officers to ensure loan applications are complete, all required supporting documentation is obtained, required disclosures are provided on a timely basis, proper analysis of borrower credit worthiness, proper evaluation of collateral credit worthiness, and compliance with Fair Lending Regulations.

• Maintain knowledge of loan products, policies and procedures, credit criteria, underwriting standards, interest rates and loan documentation requirements.

• Utilize consultative approach with loan officers regarding denied loan applications.

• Provide exceptional customer service to consumer lending team.

• Recommend operational procedures to increase effectiveness of department operations.

• Work together with all areas of lending including origination, consumer lending, commercial lending or any department within TBK Bank to ensure an efficient and effective team based division.

• Participate in department and/or strategic projects as required.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

• 2 - 4 years of related experience preferred.

• Familiar with Fair Lending practices.

• Understanding of Fair Lending reporting.

• Familiar with lending industry guidelines.

Skills & Abilities Required:

• Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
