The newly renovated Preserve at Eisenhower Golf Course minutes from Annapolis is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Assistant Golf Professional. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to the clubs managed by Troon/Indigo Sports. This is a unique full-time opportunity for a new PGA Member or Apprentice to develop their instructional skills while assisting in junior golf programs, adult clinics, and private lessons. Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Golf Professional:
- Assist the Director of Golf on the daily management of golf operations
- Assist with all opening and closing procedures
- Golf instruction program development, execute Junior Golf Camps, Junior and Adult clinics, Private Instruction
- Assist with golfer check-in and fee collection
- Assist with controlling and managing play
- Assist tournament operation and weekly events including planning, pre-tournament, post-tournament billing, promotion, course set-up, preparation, score, prize distribution, and follow-up
- Assist with management of outside service staff to ensure the highest of quality of customer service is achieved
- Assist in managing golf car operations, practice facility, and club storage service
- Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including order procedures, display, and sales
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner and always maintain a professional image
- Assist with the administration of applicable staff via record keeping, work schedules, etc. in accordance with facility human resource policies
- Assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments
Knowledge, Skill, & Traits:
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations
- Strong organizational, planning & prioritization skills
- Self-motivated with desire to promote and market
- Service and customer focused attitude
- Experienced in written and oral business communication
- Experienced computer using; Microsoft Word, Excel
- Knowledge with online tee sheet systems, preferably G1
- Knowledge with tournament software, preferably Golf Genius Tournament Software
- Knowledge with POS Systems
- Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community
Qualifications:
- Must be motivated to thrive in the golf industry
- Class A PGA Professional preferred in good standing
- PGA Level 1 or higher PGA Apprentice in good standing
Work Experience & Education:
- Minimum 2 years of experience at a golf facility
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or some college with equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience at a golf facility
