Description

Essential Function: This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Pine Canyon Spa and Fitness operations – including oversight of hourly and contracted team member’s front desk operation, treatment services, fitness schedules and programming, and enforcement of policies and procedures. This role is responsible for developing and enhancing all Health and Wellness programming to create a well-rounded, 5-star experience for Pine Canyon members and guests. This role will assist in oversight of the Ladies Locker room and lounge, and coordinate Ladies Wellness events in collaboration with the Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate on a daily basis with the Director to ensure a coordinated effort at providing year round quality Spa and Fitness experience for members and guests
  • Design, implement, and oversee high quality spa and fitness programming, activities, and events
  • Assign the Director in assessing current programming and execute changes to elevate overall experience
  • Oversee the use, care, operation, maintenance, and record keeping of fitness equipment
  • Regularly completing surprise class visits and validating service standards, ensuring team members are delivering an exceptional member experience
  • Learning and evaluating industry trends to keep Pine Canyon at the fore front of health and wellness offerings
  • Ensure compliance with prescribed standards in the areas of guest satisfaction, labor costs, safety, and sanitation
  • Actively monitor member service to ensure standards of operation constantly meet or exceed the presently established guidelines
  • Partner and collaborate with fellow Pine Canyon managers to integrate Health and Wellness offerings across multiple departments
  • Work closely with marketing team to consistently advertise spa and fitness offerings and establish creative promotional/marketing material to increase attendance and bookings
  • Interview, hire, orientate, and exhibit confidence in coaching team members in Pine Canyon’s 5 star service guidelines. Effectively manage the team including assigning and directing work, scheduling, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates
  • Initiate team trainings to create the highest personalized service for guests coming into wellness facilities
  • Enforce all of the club rules and regulations governing the use of Pine Canyon facilities
  • Inspect outlets on a daily basis prior to opening and again at closing to ascertain any maintenance, repairs, or additional cleanup needs
  • Recommend and implement appropriate educational opportunities and programs to ensure service providers have the needed technical know how
  • Ensure department budgetary goals are met, profitability objectives are met, and labor costs reflect the varied levels of demand/seasonality
  • Collaborate with Housekeeping and Maintenance teams on locker room cleanliness and organization
  • Assist the Director in creating/hosting Ladies Nights events, designed to promote community, fun, and stay consistent with wellness promotion
  • Completing daily tasks as necessary to ensure Pine Canyon cleanliness standards and expectations are met, including during opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain high visibility in Pine Canyon Spa and Pine Canyon Fitness to receive residents and guests and to ensure prompt, efficient and knowledgeable service
  • Handle member problems and complaints professionally with adequate follow up and resolution. Anticipate and intervene in incidents of guest dissatisfaction. Reporting to the Director as needed for support and discussion
  • Oversee data records and ensure software platform used for reservations and reporting is utilized to maximum capability to support the business. Demonstrates fluent knowledge in software system, with the ability to trouble shoot for members and team as needed
  • Develop and maintain files including items such as purchase orders, check requests, usage tracking, brochures, etc.
  • Responsible for the economical purchase and control of supplies and equipment, and ensure costs are controlled, monitored and reviewed
  • Manages time effectively to be frequently present for spa appointments, fitness classes, and special events pertaining to health and wellness or club sponsored events
  • Be fluent with point of sale system to accurately track member charges and correct member statements as needed
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required and assist with any special projects as assigned by management
  • Know safety and emergency procedures for guests and employees, and accident prevention policies, incorporating safe work practices for self and team in job performance
  • Support the club’s standards manual
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Performs all other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent to three years of experience in club/resort/hotel services
  • Active Fitness certifications/applicable spa certifications preferred
  • Must be able to stay organized, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task
  • Proficiency in computer programs like MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Proven strong leadership and management experience
  • Ability to work holidays/weekends as needed to support the programs
