Crew Lead/Mover

Position: Crew Lead/Mover

Position Summary: Duties included, but not limited to, physically moving furniture items, safe operating of company vehicles, completing paperwork and transactions, proper use of all company equipment, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Provides clients with exceptional customer service
• Ensure all daily vehicle inspections are performed at the start of the work day
• Completes daily checklists
• Serve as the job-site point of contact for customers
• Educate clients on Tropic Moving services and pricing
• Responsible for completing customer invoices and processing payment
• Ensure the trucks have all supplies and materials necessary for the days work
• Assist in training new hires about the day to day operations and core values
• Ensure items are properly protected according to Tropic Moving standards
• Responsible for ensuring the safety of all staff and clients
• Responsible for ensuring safety and efficiency regarding moving, loading, and unloading of customer inventory
• Responsible for operating company vehicles while following all rules of the road
• Ensure the safety of the crew in company vehicles during transit (proper use of seat belts, etc)
• Prevent careless and costly mistakes, including damage, injury, unsatisfied clients, lost equipment, etc
• Check in regularly throughout the day with direct supervisor/office staff for additional assignments and troubleshooting guidance
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all company vehicles and equipment
• Assumes ultimate responsibility for work completed on their move.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have transportation to work
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Must be able to pass a federal background check
• Minimum of a High school or equivalent diploma preferred
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record
• Must be able to operate a 26 ft box truck under 26,000 GVW
• Must want to be part of a growing organization and excited about advancement opportunities

Other Requirements:

• Ability to provide leadership to a team and ensuring all Tropic Moving policies and procedures are being maintained
• Ability to make logistical decisions throughout the workday
• Ability to process transactions using the Clover Go application
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions typical of Florida (heat, rain, and cold)
• Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, bending, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting and carrying 75 lbs
• Must be willing and able to work varied and long shifts
• Must be available to work, if requested, during any and all on-call shifts

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
