Clinical Duties Include:
- Taking medical histories
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients
- Preparing patients for telehealth examinations
- Assisting during examinations
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
- Recording vital signs
- Performing basic laboratory tests
- Instructing patients about medication
- Preparing and administering medications
- Transmitting prescription refills as directed
- Phlebotomy
- Taking electrocardiograms
- Setting up and distributing Remote Physiologic Monitoring equipment
Administrative Duties Include:
- Preparing clinical space for launch
- Greeting patients
- Managing phone/email
- Updating and filing electronic medical records
- Insurance coding/filing
- Data entry
- Scheduling appointments
- Arranging lab and other patient services
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to work effectively on their own
- Excellent reliability
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
- Piccolo Clinical Chemistry System experience a plus but not required
- Excellent organizational skills
- Flexible schedule
Troy Medical is a new Telemedicine clinic opening in Fairbanks this winter. Our goal is to bring specialty medical care, such as Neurology, Endocrinology, and Rheumatology, to patients who struggle to find providers in their area. We will use a hybrid telemedicine design, which includes in-office patient care and telemedicine exams. Our Medical Assistant will work with a team of specialists across the US to bring amazing medical care to Fairbanks.
We are looking for a Medical Assistant who will perform standard medical office duties and act as a liaison between our patients and our providers. You will be working with support staff that includes both on-site and remote employees, however you must be comfortable working independently as well.
Pay is $25/hour. No benefits are offered with this position.

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical Assistant: 1 year (Preferred)

- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
