The Credit Portfolio Manager is a key member of the Truist Wealth Management team, partnering directly with the Structured Lending Advisor and/or Wealth Advisor to recommend credit strategies and customized solutions to meet the complex needs of high net worth/ultra-high net worth clientele and prospects located nationwide. The Credit Portfolio Manager will primarily be responsible for underwriting new loan transactions with an average transaction size of $35 million, modifications or renewals to existing transactions and loan portfolio monitoring for clients of the Truist Wealth Management line of business. Typical transactions include complex client entity structures and commercial lending products (liquid secured, commercial real estate, yacht, aircraft, fine art, hedge funds and unsecured lending).
Responsibilities include:
- Prepares loan recommendations for approval, including analyzing financial performance and other required due diligence
- Negotiates legal documents; involved in the closing process for portfolio loan transactions
- Coordinates credit and loan portfolio administration activities such as completion of annual reviews, management of covenant compliance and ongoing collateral monitoring.
- Monitors loan portfolio risk and other credit process metrics
Minimum Requirements
- 10 plus years of lending experience
- Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent experience) with strong commercial or private lending credit knowledge
- Successfully completed a formal commercial credit training program or its equivalent
- Has very strong knowledge of the credit underwriting process
- Very strong advisory credit knowledge
- Solid knowledge of all Private Wealth Management products and services
- Solid sales skills and excellent client service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive deadlines per client demands and ability to change work schedule to accommodate competing priorities
- Flexible; readily adapts to change and new products, systems or methods
- Strong computer skills and written and oral communications skills.
Preferred Requirements
- Familiar with complex client entity structures and commercial lending products (liquid secured, commercial real estate, yacht, aircraft, fine art, hedge funds and unsecured lending)
- Can analyze business financial statements and identify risks and mitigants
- Has market knowledge of loan pricing and structural trends to match client needs
- Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Management
