Provide application, systems, or process design recommendations based on short- and long- term Technology organization strategy. Develop enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features. Use a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications. Provide expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. Determine specifications, then plan, design, and develop the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes-either individually or in concert with project team. Provide architectural strategy and direction for multiple diverse application functions on a variety of multi-platform systems in order to support the achievement of corporate business objectives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Participate in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of Truist's most complex solutions.
- Development includes but is not limited to customized coding, software integration, analysis, configuring solutions, or use tools pertinent to the area, project, or system to configure or generate a solution.
- Ensure adherence to company and industry standards. Provides technical consultation on extremely challenging or unusual situations.
- Write and run unit tests.
- Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
- Interpret internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices.
- Use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
- Mentor less experienced teammates to build technical expertise and May oversee the work of a small team.
- Does not have management responsibilities instead, this position serves as the technical expert on the team and is often the strongest engineer, answering and solving the most complex, unusual issues, but does not have the skills nor the interest in management. Therefore, in the technical industry and many companies, this position is often aligned at the same level as an entry level manager. This creates a career path for an individual contributor to remain as an individual contributor and does not have to seek a management role for promotion/pay.
- In an Agile environment: Act as an Agile champion.
- Responsible for delivering high quality working software and automating manual/reusable tasks working directly, and consulting with, the business from the beginning of the design work.
- Leverage continuous engineering practices to deliver business value regarding effectiveness of the design.
- Actively participate in refining user stories.
- Responsible for development and developing unit testing and supporting integration and functional testing.
- Responsible for providing warranty support and providing knowledge transfer to production support.
- Develop code in accordance with the acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience in development or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices.
- Understanding of multiple disciplines/processes related to the position.
- Experience applying and utilizing enterprise architecture standards.
- Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to the IT function.
- Ability to plan and manage projects.
- Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices.
- Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.
- Advanced communications skills, including ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information.
- In an Agile environment: Knowledge of Agile development and release practices. Experience supporting a team with application architecture in an Agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Knowledge of one or more of technologies such as: JAVA, Spring, Spring Boot, JEE, JAVA Beans, JavaScript, Web Services, SOAP/REST, WebSphere technologies, Database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and proficiency in PL/SQL.
- Good knowledge and experience in AWS Cloud technology and solid orking knowledge of UML and design tools.
- Banking or financial services experience.
- In an Agile environment: Knowledge of Agile development & release practices. Experience supporting a team with solutions architecture in an agile environment.
- Deep knowledge and experience with two or more of the following: Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills
- Professional experience building apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level
- Experience with Open-Source tools and frameworks
- Strong understanding of Cloud architecture, SOA methodologies and service architectures
- Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies
- Solid knowledge of relational database design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling)
- Experience with messaging systems (i.e., MQ and JMS)
- Experience with build tools, such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins
