We are currently seeking experienced Private Dining Captain candidates who will dedicate themselves to this purpose in joining our exceptional team of professionals.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of five (5) years’ previous hospitality experience, and a proven history of professionalism, accountability, and team commitment.

COMPENSATION :
$45,000-$95,000k / year (Hourly Tips)
JOB DESCRIPTION
PRIVATE DINING CAPTAIN
REQUIRED TRAINING / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of bar and restaurant service and pleasant attitude.
- 2 years of restaurant experience. 1-year private dining server experience.
- Flexible and malleable attitude toward new ideas.
- Must be able to stand for 9 hours.
- Ability to perform all job functions while wearing the specified uniform, including proper footwear.
- Must possess exceptional communication skills.
- Basic computer usage skills.
- Must have a telephone number where they can be reached.
- Must be alert to guest needs.
- Ability to carry and lift small and large trays up to 40 pounds.
- Beliefs and behaviors that emphasize integrity and discipline.
- The Private Dining Captain position is vital to the restaurant’s operations. This individual must possess the skill set, demeanor, work ethic, and attitude that epitomize Truluck’s Constitution.
- The position requires an individual to be available for all Private Dining Events at the restaurant with the understanding that many events book at the last minute with very little notice and last-minute client-driven changes often require the Private Dining Captain to report to work earlier than scheduled.
- Responsible for always maintaining the private dining room. Setting up and breakdown of the room before, after, and in between events is the sole responsibility of the Private Dining Captain.
Our private dining room must always be pristine to show it to prospective clientele.
Required to work closely with the Sales & Events Manager and the entire Leadership Team in planning for and executing each event.
Communication between the Private Dining Captain and the Leadership Team is essential to ensure that all details of each event are met, and each client’s expectations are exceeded.
It is important that Truluck’s Private Dining Team be as responsive to the guests’ needs as possible.
- The PDR manual outlines the private dining operations and guidelines. The Private Dining Captain must follow all aspects of the PDR manual and must ensure all event requirements and details are provided as stated on the BEO.
- The Private Dining Captain is an extension of the Leadership Team and thus must be a problem solver seeking solutions to all issues that arise prior to and during each event regardless of the source of the issue.
- Events requiring multiple staff will require the Private Dining Captain to direct the other staff members in their duties.
The Private Dining Captain will hold pre-shift meetings with the Leadership Team (Private Dining Captain, PDR servers, Service & Culinary Leadership team) before each of the events outlining the details of the event to ensure each staff member is informed.
The Private Dining Captain will instruct the staff during each event as required to execute the event properly.
It is imperative the Private Dining Captain always conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism and dignity, treating all our ladies and gentlemen with respect and consideration.

Education Preferred
High School or better.
Experience Required 1 year : 1 year : A minimum of one (1) year private dining experience. 2 years : 2 years : A minimum of two (2) years previous restaurant experience.
Preferred 2 years : 2 years : Fine dining experience is preferred. 5 years : 5 years : Five (5) years previous hospitality experience.
