Job Title: Assistant Band Director

General Job Description
- Assist the head band director in planning and conducting rehearsals.
- Work collaboratively with the head band director and other music staff to develop and implement instructional strategies.
- Provide instruction to students in various instrumental techniques and music theory.
- Conduct sectional rehearsals and small group lessons to improve individual and group performance.
- Assist in organizing and directing performances, including concerts, competitions, and marching band events.
- Help with music selection, arrangement, and distribution of sheet music.
- Coordinate logistics for rehearsals, performances, and travel arrangements.
- Manage inventory, maintenance, and repair of instruments and equipment.
- Provide individualized feedback and support to students to enhance their musical skills.
- Encourage and motivate students to achieve their highest potential.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining attendance records, managing budgets, and ordering supplies.
- Help with communication between the band program, parents, and school administration.
- Assist in planning and executing band events, fundraisers, and community outreach activities.
- Supervise students during events and ensure their safety and discipline.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in music education.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions as required.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and the community.
- Promote the band program within the school and the wider community.
- Ensure all activities comply with school policies and procedures.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Applicant must hold a current Oklahoma Certification in Instrumental/General Music.
