FACULTY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - August 23, 2024 CAMPUS MINISTER The Opportunity Saint Catherine of Siena School is seeking a Campus Minister for the 2024-25 school year. The successful candidate will be a Catholic, faithful to the Church's teaching and practice, kind, intelligent, organized, faith filled, professional, dedicated teacher leader with a good sense of humor! We hope that the Campus Minister will be able to easily collaborate with our Teachers, Aides, Priests and Admin Team. The Campus Minister resigned to take a position as Associate Superintendent of Boston Catholic Schools. Teaching experience is a plus and a desire to work within a conservative Catholic community is a must. The Mission At Saint Catherine of Siena School (SCS), we celebrate the God-given potential and unique talents of every student from Preschool to Grade 8. We do this by helping our students to strive for academic excellence within a faith filled community of learners. We work together with parents as partners within our school family to nurture our students and help them to grow as compassionate, confident, and courageous young men and women prepared to use their gifts at SCS and in the world to See Christ in Others. Be Christ for Others. The School Saint Catherine of Siena School is located in Norwood, MA. The school was founded in 1926 by Father James Doherty and was staffed by the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph for many years. In the fall of 2024, the school will serve 400 plus students from over 24 plus communities in grades PK - 8. Our professional community consists of 30 plus dedicated teachers who are committed to educating students within the guidance of the Catholic faith. Responsibilities Include Teach 4 Middle School Classes *Middle School Classes that meet 5 days per week Schedule School Masses and Religious Events with the Pastor, Parish and School Administration Prepare teachers in order for them to support their students for all above Schedule and support implementation of Annual Retreats for the children Grades 2 to 5 Schedule and support implementation of Bi-Annual Retreats for the children in Middle School Work to implement and expand the Virtues in Practice program from the Dominican Sisters of Nashville. The initial program was introduced in January 2023 for all SCS grades/classes from Preschool Grade 8. Work with the Assistant Principal of the Middle School to fully formalize the service program for Middle School and begin to create opportunities for service work/community outreach across the grade levels. Work with the Assistant Principal, Principal and Director of Student Life to create and support a House System to support servant leadership across grade levels. Support Implementation of the Curriculum for Religion in Grades Preschool to Grade 8 In collaboration with the Principal, Assistant Principal and Director of Curriculum. Help to organize and implement Annual trip to Washington, DC for the March for Life Work in partnership with the Principal, Assistant Principal and Director of Student Life to nurture and support a pro-life culture among students, faculty, and staff. Create and nurture a formal Partnership with organizations like Friends of the Unborn in Quincy. Work with the Principal, Assistant Principal and Director of Curriculum to create opportunities for continuing spiritual development and faith formation enrichment programs for faculty and staff. Be the faculty liaison with the Faith & Family Life Committee (Catholic Identity Strategic Plan Implementation Committee) and attend 90 percent or more of the meetings. Work to support creation and dissemination of the bi-annual Faith & Family Life newsletter to be sent home to families beginning in the fall of 2024. Collaborate with Principal, Assistant Principal and Parish to support focus on increasing sacramental offerings such as Penance and presence on site of Seminarians, Sisters, etc.
