Job Description

What you will do:

• Work with the Early Childhood Specialist (ECS) Team to support the Berrien County-wide Great Start Readiness Preschool Program (GSRP) in increasing the percentage of children in Berrien County who reach kindergarten with the skills required for school success.
• Evaluates the GSRP classrooms and is the educational leader for the teaching teams
• Observes and evaluates the program and supports the classroom staff to meet the goals set for the program and its children
• Uses program evaluation data to ascertain what needs to be changed or improved, and the support needed to implement changes and to set goals with the teams for the school year.
• Attends and deliver meaningful professional development and participates in Early Childhood Staff meetings
• Assist in budgeting, grant writing, data collection and reporting as requested
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Other duties as assigned

Works under the general supervision of the Preschool Supervisor.

Need to Have:

• Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or child development
• Five or more years of successful work experience in early childhood
• Valid Michigan Teaching certificate with approval in early childhood
• Five or more years of relevant job experience such as working with young children in a group setting, program planning and implementation, staff supervision/development and program management
• Specific professional development such as curriculum development, program management and staff development
• Have or achieve status as a reliable assessor in the approved developmental screener, comprehensive curriculum, child assessment, and program evaluation tool of the classrooms supported
