Job Responsibilities
The following represents some major areas of concern in Physical Education. Other areas in the Special Education field will be required to fulfill all the needs of the classroom and student IEPs.
- Design and direct adaptive physical education classes.
- Identify and assess needs of each student
- Evaluate students' growth through review on a consistent basis
- Provide instruction that is congruent with goals and objectives listed on IEP
- Ensure the health, safety and general well being of the students
- Function as a member of IEP team, addressing needs of students
- Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required
- Bachelor's Degree required, with classroom experience preferred.
- Active State Certification in Health and Physical Education (or current out-of-state Health and Physical Education certification).
- 1 years of experience working as a Physical Education Teacher.
