Position Teacher Mentor
Requirements/Qualifications
Certified Teacher with Professional Status and proficient or higher evaluation rating during the previous year; Current teacher at one of the three schools within BHRSD. Demonstrated success with classroom management & organization; Demonstrated knowledge of content area & current pedagogy; Demonstrated success in both teaming & supporting teachers new to the field; Demonstrating knowledge about the professional & community resources in the school & District. Other qualifications as established by the District.
Salary/Stipend: As per BHEA Unit A Contract
Mentor Level 1: $1,330
Mentor Level 2: $666
Work Schedule: 2024-2025 School Year

Work Schedule: 2024-2025 School Year
- Ability to hold regular one-on-one meetings with mentees to discuss planning, curriculum, instruction, classroom management and other topics. Teachers in Level 1 must have meetings at least twice a month. Teachers in Level 2 must have meetings at least once a month.
- Ability to engage in regular classroom observations of mentee, providing constructive feedback on instruction, curriculum and classroom management.
- Invite mentee to observe in their classroom and engage in follow-up conversations about observation.
- Ability to support teachers in their first and/or second year in the induction program. This will include up to sic (6) after-school group meetings with all Level 1 teachers and mentors to discuss key topics for new teachers.
