Community Engagement Associate
Community Engagement Associate - Oklahoma City
The Community Engagement Associate will support community engagement opportunities to advance abortion access in Oklahoma. Together with the Advocacy Team, the Community Engagement Associate will organize and implement community engagement activities to strengthen Trust Women’s work in the state. This position will be responsible for overseeing volunteers in activities to support our mission. Other duties may be assigned to promote and protect abortion access so that all people can make the best healthcare decisions for themselves and their families. The Community Engagement Associate will report to the Advocacy Director.
The Community Engagement Associate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Advocacy

Support civic and community engagement in politically and culturally diverse communities on abortion and other reproductive health policies

Develop and maintain relationships with key state groups, grassroots leaders, partner organizations, and supporters around the region

Mobilize and guide Trust Women’s supporters
Volunteers

Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers

Track volunteer hours, updating and maintaining volunteer contact information in database.

Coach and work hands-on with volunteers to develop a volunteer supporter base

Assist each new volunteer in completing onboarding paperwork

Assist in organizing volunteer training workshops

Implement and execute volunteer recognition and appreciation reception

Monitor the quality of the volunteer experience and outcomes of volunteer contributions
Events

Coordinate details of events: conferences, anniversaries, appreciation events, author or film events, citizen lobby days, demonstrations, etc.

Attend community engagement events for tabling and public outreach

Coordinate and monitor event deadlines, such as sending invitations, securing a venue, booking speakers, and publicizing events.

Manage RSVP list, logistics, security in coordination with staff
Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree required

Based in/near Oklahoma City

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build working relationships with diverse groups

Strong written and oral communication abilities

Proven interest in reproductive justice, abortion access and/or social justice

Experience in Microsoft Office Suites, particularly with Excel and Word
-
Ability to work independently and with a team, both in person and remotely

Keen attention to detail
Salary : $38,000 - $45,000
