Identify, assess, and mitigate risk focused on the review of marketing, advertising, and external communications content so the enterprise can achieve its desired overall risk level while maintaining client service levels. Advocates in the interest of the enterprise and provides advice and finds solutions to enable the Voluntary Benefits and the Trustmark enterprise to be competitive and compliant.
- Conduct thorough and timely reviews of broker marketing (promotional) content, voluntary benefits social media posts, and consumer marketing (enrollment) content to ensure compliance with insurance regulations and alignment with product attributes; collaborate with business partners, including the Law Department, to develop compliant strategies for broker, employer, and consumer audience content
- Collaborate with business partners to create and maintain consumer-friendly product briefs that include pre-approved descriptions of products, product features and riders to accelerate content development and compliance approval process. Ensure approved language is used across various marketing deliverables, managing and documenting exceptions. Work with business partners to expand library of pre-approved templates for commonly used materials. Collaborate with the Law Department to maintain up-to-date spreadsheets of state exceptions and disclosure requirements to ensure compliance and accelerate content creation.
- Develop materials, along with business partners, for new product launches that are ultimately approved, when necessary, by state Departments of Insurance.
- Create and manage workflow review process to ensure transparency and enable periodic auditing. Train broader marketing and sales teams on how to avoid language that triggers revisions on customized materials. Provide new ideas for workflow improvements that result in better customer satisfaction, reduced costs, and increased efficiencies.
- Manage document storage and retention using both servers and digital asset management platform. Responsible for maintaining repository of marketing materials to meet legal requirements.
- Act as the center of excellence for document review that stays updated on industry regulations, benchmarks competitive documentation, and innovates to move beyond best practices.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors Degree with 4-8 OR GED with 6-8 years of experience years of marketing or communications work experience in a regulated environment
- Experience applying contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements and comprehending key points/implications for the business with minimal managerial oversight.
- Ability to actively listen, embrace team decisions and help resolve obstacles constructively. Provide advice, ideas, formulate solutions/proposals and secure agreement with client on issues of simple to moderate complexity with some managerial oversight.
- Ability to analyze situations and critically think about information and data to draw appropriate conclusions.
- Ability to translate regulatory concepts and findings (primarily insurance-related) into business-friendly terms.
- Ability to understand existing company and division policy and processes. Takes initiative to make policy and procedure recommendations; documents existing procedures or revises existing materials for departmental use.
- Proactive and shows initiative.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office products and ability to learn software applications.
- Ability to learn quickly while operating in a self-directed environment.
Preferred
- Insurance, employee benefits or health plan administration industry experience
- Knowledge of unfair/deceptive acts and practices and/or advertising compliance requirements, particularly as it relates to the insurance industry
- Experience building digital workflows and content repositories
- Legal experience/education
