POSITION SUMMARY:
Assures completion of all housekeeping and laundry tasks. Assumes responsibility for general cleanliness of the building. Monitors needed janitorial and maintenance work as requested.
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/DESIGNEE
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for Residents.
- Monitors inventory of chemicals, supplies and equipment needed for laundry and housekeeping tasks.
- Communicates chemical, supply and equipment need to Executive Director/Designee.
- Maintains required records; uses Maintenance Request Log appropriately.
- Familiarizes self with cleaning schedules of Residents’ apartments and common areas to assure completion of housekeeping tasks.
- Performs housekeeping, janitorial tasks, and minor repairs as assigned.
- Assures that other janitorial and repair requests are properly logged and monitors their completion.
- Provides laundry services as needed and/or directed.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
- Observes problems, concerns, and issues observed with Resident units, the community, and the grounds and communicates them appropriately.
- Observes changes in Resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates them appropriately.
- Observes other problems and communicates them appropriately.
- Observes all work, safety, and administrative rules.
- Adheres to all established policies and procedures.
- Records Resident information as required.
- Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety, and other emergencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- CPR/First Aid Certified.
- Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
- Ability/willingness to follow all policies and procedures.
- Is neat, accurate, dependable and keeps work/space clean.
- Ability/willingness to work longer than eight (8) hour shift; to work holidays or overtime and to work a seven (7) day schedule.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Working knowledge of equipment, supplies, and chemicals used for housekeeping and laundry tasks in public use buildings. Experience in working in a licensed care setting preferred. CPR/First Aid Certified.
EDUCATION:
Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred. Attendance at in-service training. Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification. Meet in-service training hours required for job classification and position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Drivers are responsible for transporting residents, staff, or handling deliveries in a timely manner, and may have to work nights and weekends to accomplish their duties. Drivers may also assist Maintenance in completing general work around the community.
REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transport residents, staff and/or packages to and from destinations
- Arrive at destinations on schedule
- Fulfill administrative needs as assigned
- Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays
- Use navigation applications to determine the best route, if available
- Always interact with residents and staff professionally
- Ensure that the community vehicle is always fueled and ready for use
- Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed
- Keep mileage records and repair records up-to-date
- Assist residents to transfer onto the vehicle and into seating
- Operate van lift
- Keep community vehicles clean inside and out
- Complete motor vehicle check list prior to and after each trip.
- Other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma.
- A minimum of one year of driving vans for seniors.
- Hold valid driver’s license in the state where the Community is located. Must have clean driving record and meet all other employee requirements.
- Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must function independently with minimal supervision, be flexible in scheduling, have personal integrity, be able to work effectively with residents, personnel, outside vendors, and other support agencies.
- Must be able to interact with residents who are highly susceptible to common illness without exposing them to additional health risks.
- May assist Maintenance Director in keep facility in compliance with government regulations including OSHA, Life Safety Code, and assisted living regulations, if applicable.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents in emergency situations.
- Must always maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS
- Ability to perform a wide variety of activities and must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, carry, drive, pull, push, squat, bend, climb, kneel, reach, crawl, twist, grasp, and feel to perform assigned duties.
- The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions and frequent interruptions. May be subject to extreme weather conditions (i.e., temperatures below 32 degrees and over 90 degrees).
- May work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays when necessary. Scheduled hours may change to meet resident and community needs.
