Overview

The science of Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences (PACEs) (pacesconnection.com)shows that childhood adversity is the root cause of the most prevalent and costly childhood/adult diseases, as well as most social, economic and mental health issues.

 

PACEs Connection, the leading advocate for the rapidly expanding, global PACEs movement, launched its healing-centered social network in 2012. The growing non-profit has nearly 58,000 members in 450 communities in the U.S. and around the world.

 

PACEs Connection brings together resources to integrate trauma-informed and resilience-building practices in identifying and healing the impact of childhood adversity in families (abuse, bullying, addiction to alcohol or other drugs), communities (witnessing violence, racism, historical trauma) and the environment (pandemics, hurricanes, wildfires). It supports individuals, organizations, communities and systems to solve our country’s most intractable problems.

 

Members integrate trauma-informed, healing-centered practices and policies in all sectors, including schools, health clinics, rehabilitation facilities, law enforcement agencies, businesses and houses of worship.

Responsibilities

 

The Development Director will be a part of an exciting, growing non-profit organization and help PACEs Connection with finance, development, fundraising and overall sustainability. They will work to create structure and streamline PACE’s processes and continue building on our fundraising efforts. The Development Director will thrive on fostering relationships with funders, partners, and advisory members and work closely with the Director of Strategic Partnerships. They will be responsible for building and maintaining various fundraising systems and tools; identifying and applying for grants and contacts and writing and producing content related to development for distribution.  Sets the organization’s development strategy and implementation, which includes grants, individual donors, events and corporate sponsorship revenue streams. Serves on the executive team with the CEO.

 

  • Develop long term plan to further grow and diversify the organization’s revenue streams over the next 2-3 years.
  • Assess and evaluate existing fundraising efforts.
  • Individual donors: Develop and maintain a database for managing PACEs Connection’s individual donations to keep track of individual donations.
  • Lead individual campaign and appeal strategy.
  • Oversee the growth of our individual donor base administratively through donation processing, communications for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Oversee a strong and consistent acknowledgement system to ensure donors are recognized in a timely manner for their support, and ongoing strategic engagement.
  • Major gifts: Strengthen the organization’s major gifts program, and serve as a relationship manager for this growing donor base. Leverage the CEO as needed for communications and strategy efforts.
  • Grants: Identify, research, write and oversee the timely submission of grant proposals, LOIs, reports, and related materials as appropriate. Make necessary proposal revisions based on feedback, and schedule requested funder interviews in coordination with the CEO.
  • Funders: Cultivate and manage relationships with funder contacts and new funder prospects, including email, one-on-one conversations, attending occasional donor meetings, and etc
  • Corporate sponsorships: Work with Director of Strategic Partnerships to create and oversee corporate sponsorship strategy and logistics. Serve as primary liaison with corporate partners.
  • Events Sponsorships: Lead the strategy and implementation of fundraising event planning, with support from the Executive Team. Collaborate with staff on fundraising events.
  • Maintain content and data for all development materials and event materials including direct mail appeal, campaign-specific and project-specific solicitation materials.
  • Give regular funding updates at All Staff meetings.
  • Other duties as needed.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • A genuine resonance with and commitment to our mission.
  • 5 years of nonprofit fundraising/development experience and management and supervising individuals.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence with diverse ethnic, cultural and socio-economic groups and understanding of the role social determinants, including racism, play in its impact on health outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and steward new and existing donors and funders, as well as a proven commitment to relationship-focused fundraising principles.
  • Proven success track record in conducting research on grant opportunities and submissions.
  • Proven project management, leadership experience, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong partnership-building and event planning skills.
  • Strong verbal/written and public communication skills, including experience engaging community, funders, and internally with staff and advisory board members.
  • A general understanding of marketing, promotion, branding, and communications strategies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Google Suite, Canva, Eventbrite, and open to learning new systems and software.

Regarding COVID-19: TSNE considers the health and safety of our employees of the utmost importance, and due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and subject to your state and local laws, our policy requires that all employees performing in-person work at a TSNE designated office are fully vaccinated. For the purpose of this policy, fully vaccinated indicates that you have received a single dose of the Janssen vaccine, or both doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine. Certain exemptions may be requested and will be considered by Human Resources.

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Location: Work will be primarily performed remote.

Compensation: The starting salary for this position is $90,000- $100,000
