What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. Buyer position at Tube Wright Inc?
We are an established automotive manufacturing company looking to fill one full-time junior buyer position in our purchasing department. Job responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and upgrade purchasing files and records in the ERP system.
- Track the status of open orders, materials, supplies and or/equipment based on new or updated customer orders or company requests.
- Assist Senior Buyer with placing and modifying RFQ’s (blanket orders or spot buys)
- Update the supplier performance metric and assign ratings for supplier performance.
- Assist the senior buyer with other departments, particularly manufacturing, quality, sales and shipping in regarding updating MSDS sheets, investigating material issues, updating delivery dates or supplier issues.
- Verify that material certificates and PPAP documentation has been received accordingly.
- Work with quality to assure quality standards are met.
- Assist senior buyer with investigation and resolution of product related customer complaints.
- Assist and support the senior buyer with forecasts to ensure transparent purchasing.
- Perform inventory cycle counts internally and externally.
- Any other responsibilities deemed appropriate by the Senior Buyer or Plant Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of two (2) years of purchasing and supply chain management experience.
- Purchasing experience in manufacturing is preferred but not required
- Must have previous experience working in an ERP system (enterprise resource planning).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and ability to learn and utilize other computer applications as necessary.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, communication skills.
- Great personality in general, especially in regards to professionalism, teamwork, and customer/ vendor interaction.
