Position Summary:
The Billing Associate is responsible for timely submission of Medical/Behaviorial Health claims to the reimburing provider. The Billing Associate will prepare, review, and transmit Medical/Behaviorial Health claims through the billing platform, after ensuring all patient data and billing units are accurate per the patients treatment episode.
Duties and Responsibilites :
- Verify patient insurance coverge with Medicaid, Medicare and Private insurance companies
- Submit Medical/Behaviorial Health claims to the reimbursing provider by quantifying billable units per client treatment episode
- Review daily patient census for new admissions and discharges
- Review Optimum Health System to ensure all authorizations and concurrent reviews have been completed
- Review the Concurrent patient listing daily/weekly as appropriate per location
- Investigate and resolve and denied insurance claims
- Distribute weekly report to administration detailing gross amounts billed
- Provide annual budget estimate for projected revenue by level of care and reimbursement rates.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities, Education and/or Experience:
- Medical/Behaviorial Health administration, billing, insurance credentialing,
2 years (Preferred)
- High school or equivalent (Required)
