We’re now hiring a Regulatory Specialist for our team at Kenny’s Candy & Confections. A successful candidate will be responsible developing and maintaining a system to assure all products manufactured by Kenny’s Candy & Confections are safe, legal, and meet customer and company food safety standards. The Opportunity
As the Regulatory Specialist you will work closely with the whole KKC leadership team but largely with our Quality Assurance manager, Food Safety Specialist and Quality Team. You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the company food safety programs. Perform, direct, and assist in the food safety program development and implementation to ensure that raw materials, packaging materials, in the process products and finished products conform to all regulatory requirements.

Your Responsibilities
- To perform, direct, and assist in the food safety program development and implementation to ensure that raw materials, packaging materials, in process products and finished products conform to all regulatory requirements.
- Provides leadership and technical assistance to operations by management of food safety and compliance systems.
- Instills regulatory awareness and commitment.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the company food safety programs.
- Performs and ensures required training is maintained.
- Must obtain knowledge and be trained as a HACCP Coordinator and PCQI with certificate.
- Facilitate regulatory visits and inspections.
- Manages preparation and facilitation of GFSI, NSF Supplement cGMP, Kosher, Gluten Free, Social Compliance, Organic, RSPO and any other certification audits.
- Preparation of finished product certification submissions.
- Assist in maintaining the corrective and preventive action program.
- Responsible to assist in establishing internal sanitation and housekeeping and monitoring them via GMP inspections, environmental swabbing, and allergen testing programs.
- Responsible for overseeing new item entry into ERP systems, specification databases, and customer websites.
- Responsible for the recall program, including the execution of mock recalls and any recalls if necessary.
- Manages all label and box printing systems to support production and ensure proper information is printed.
- Update communication/performance boards, communicate/participate in Safety inspections, GEMBA walks (observe, engage & improve), BRC reviews and other reviews/audits as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5 years QA or Regulatory work experience in food or a related industry.
- Working knowledge of QA procedures, statistical analysis, process capability study, process control and analytical measurement.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
- Well-developed people and team skills, must show leadership ability.
- Must be self-motivated, proactive and flexible.
- Basic computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
