The Associate Vice President, University Communications and Marketing (AVP) serves as the deputy to the Vice President (VP) for University Communications and Marketing. In this capacity, the AVP will serve as a thought partner and support the facilitation of the VP’s vision, coordinating the planning and execution of both routine operations and strategic initiatives, and integrating cross-unit planning. The AVP drives unit progress in partnership with all members of the leadership team for key priority projects, serves as an additional senior point of contact within UCM for university leaders, and directly manages key projects and initiatives as assigned by the VP. This individual works closely with the VP and the Director of Operations on personnel and budget matters and supervises a Project Manager that provides capacity and support to unit-wide projects and to manage the unit’s project management system. This role necessitates a passionate, ambitious, self-starting professional who can deliver results that advance the strategic and reputational priorities of Tulane University. The role is both strategic and tactical, requiring a versatile, driven individual with high intellectual curiosity, exceptional communication skills, keen attention to detail, and well-honed business judgment.
