The Program Manager of Field Education is goal oriented, highly organized, proactive, and able to plan and work strategically. The successful candidate must have exceptionally strong people skills; proven leadership skills; and the ability to work effectively in an academic environment and with faculty, staff, students, field instructors, staff, and other constituents and contractors.
The Program Manager is responsible for matching students with appropriate field sites and for implementing mechanisms to direct the field learning and its evaluation semester by semester.
The Program manager must present a poised, professional role model for students and demonstrate nonjudgmental problem solving in dealing with the complexities of field placements and ongoing student development. Due to the relational aspects of the position, the successful candidate will maintain clear, professional boundaries with students at all times. The Program Manager will also exercise discretion and confidentiality in dealing with personal student information.
The position will also entail:
Travel and attendance at events on evenings and weekends.
Cultivation of field placements and maintenance of positive working relationships with agencies
Liaison to community or university groups as appropriate
Teaching and/or training selected field courses in the evening or on weekends
Liaison to selected University groups or external professional organizations related to field, or student affairs
