What are the responsibilities and job description for the SME Health Informatics position at Tumeq LLC?

We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert in Health Informatics who will be responsible for supporting DHA Health Informatics with the deployment and sustainment efforts of Cerner Millennium and/or MHS GENESIS. The candidate should have experience working in Federal Healthcare space, and preferably the Defense Health Agency, the Services, and/or Health Affairs. The candidate will lead the development of work products and deliverables; establish relationships with primary clients and stakeholders; and identify opportunities to improve processes.

Military Health System (MHS) / Defense Health Agency (DHA)

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to handle demanding situations with clarity, focus and professionalism, and to respond quickly to taskers. 
  • Participates in special projects as required. 
  • Possess a broad understanding of the clinical/business workflows and human factors/usability standards of the current and emerging systems utilized in the organization. 
  • Has the knowledge, skills, and proficiency to understand the purpose, features, functions, benefits, and limitations of our clinical information systems. 
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR)/Electronic Medical Record (EMR)/Electronic Dental Record (EDR) systems and relevant supporting HIT systems.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) with Cerner Millennium and/or MHS Genesis in one or more solution areas. 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and integrate key organizational factors, including political, economic, social, technological, and administrative, to drive performance improvements, business objectives, and overarching MHS Enterprise Informatics Strategy. 
  • Demonstrated clinical informatics experience with the DOD or commercial healthcare system.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to confer with senior management using industry expertise to define the client's strategic information technology business goals. 
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to assist client in developing strategies and concepts. 
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to advise clients on the impact of new legislation or new technologies that are relevant to their activity. 
  • Possess the ability to apply interpersonal skills, knowledge in the areas of End User (EU) expectation management, clinical workflows, and clinical process improvements methodologies. 
  • Ability to manage deadlines and recurring deliverables.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years of Health Informatics experience
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, equivalent, or higher in Informatics, Computer Science, Public Health, or related clinical/medical/business discipline (recommended) 
  • Have excellent skills and knowledge of Adult Training and Education methodologies and delivery methods. 
  • Demonstrated ability to excel both independently and as a team member in a lively, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Have excellent knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office Products and related applications.
  • PMP Certification preferred.

 

US Citizenship Required – Candidate will need to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

 

Required to travel to local or other non-local locations.
