What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Specialist position at Tundraland?
Primary Purpose:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be an integral part of our growing accounting team. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will perform job duties that secure our company’s revenue by processing receipts and resolving discrepancies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recognize daily revenue
- Process and post payments to customer accounts from a variety of funding sources
- Process change-orders in an accurate and timely fashion
- Handle multiple inquiries from customers regarding statements, outstanding invoices, and balances
- Update and review account statuses and CRM daily
- Investigate overpayments and process refunds and/or credit memos
- Follow up internally on customer accounts with delinquent payments
- Take course of action to recover outstanding payments
- Update and send detail aging report
- Prepare month-end journal entries and corresponding account reconciliations
Minimum Skills and Competencies:
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable/Cash Application
- Associates Degree in Accounting is desired, but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop or NetSuite programs
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work
- Work with various departments throughout the company regarding account receivable and credit related items
- Ability to maintain excellent documentation
- Strong GAAP accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and confidentiality
