What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager position at Turcabbits?

1st - the schedule is we are open May through Oct. Busy months of Jul, Aug, Sep. Completely closed November through April. During winter closure, phones only need to be answered for summer reservations. Minimal work and can be done remotely from anywhere.

Who we are

We are a family owned Motel and Cabins Rental business. The owners Jim and Summer are semi-retired and would love for someone interested in a 3, 5, 10 year New Hampshire residence during summer, fall, winter and/or spring, A couple who love nature and would enjoy the beautiful foothills area of the White Mountains here at the Weirs Beach on Lake Winnipesaukee. There are as many ways to make this work as there are peoples. How we use the motel to help us have life quality is up to us. We are looking for a couple that together have an interest in the hospitality business and the information age. Young or old, a couple who wants to put in the work 7 months to enjoy the other 5. Jim and Summer are entrepreneurial and a couple with data base and app development skills may be interested in some of our "other" interests.

Role and Responsibilities for a working couple to provide as a team

Experience supervising various departments (housekeeping, laundry, and front desk.

Experience with Property Management Systems -taking reservation and processing payments.

Customer service skills to ensure all guests’ expectations are met to the best of our ability.

Familiar with multiple APPS to operate remote check-in procedure.

Monitor occupancy and pricing daily to maximize revenues.

Manage social media to market property and special events.

Prepare weekly schedules for the employees.

Properly maintain the cash box and accounting of cash received.

Inventory of housekeeping and laundry linens, cleaning supplies and operating supplies
Light mainteanace, lightbulbs, door knobs, drain clogs
Gardening and light yardwork

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Associate degree in hospitality or business OR equivalent experience
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience working with housekeeping, front desk and/or supervisory positions
  • one person must have Driver’s license and vehicle

Preferred Skills

  • Google drive worksheet and excel.
  • Good Phone etiquette and customer service
  • Energetic and capable of cleaning guest rooms, laundry, walking, and light carrying of items.
  • Team players willing to work with staff

Additional Notes

This is a year-round position, even though the property is seasonal. The couple will report to owners who will give directions as needed. Driving is required to assist with the J-1 students’ weekly shopping and banking needs. Also, to assist with buying operational/cleaning supplies. The position will require cleaning guest rooms and laundry prior to J-1 students’ arrival and after they leave. The position requires overseeing the office, phones, reservations, third party websites and social media. The person will assist with opening the property in April and close the property down at the end of October. Then continue to monitor the phones and summer reservations throughout the winter.

There is a full time maintenance person during season, but the couples team will assist with basic light maintenance. Lights bulbs, circuit breakers, clogged pipes, gardening, etc

Night time assistance and security will also be part of summer season

Bonus

We are a creative entrepreneurial environment and wish to create a new more flexible small mom & pop motel reservation and maintenance property management solution. If you are someone with one foot in the database and app software world, but want to straddle the tech world with the get down and get it done world, this could be perfect for you.

Travel Bonus - we do have potenial Florida RV spot or apartment available and there is also access to St Croix, US Virgin islands to couple on. Can always write code and answer phones from anywhere.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,435.43 - $48,696.43 per year
