Position Responsibilities:
The Break Relief Machine Operator at Turkey Hill LLC responsibilities includes operating an ice cream filler and associated equipment in an ambient environment. A Break Relief is responsible for the proper assembly and setup of the Ice Cream Filler, conveyors and shrink wrap used in the manufacture of frozen dessert products in a cGMP compliant environment.
Break Relief responsibilities also include adherence to Master Batch Record materials requirements and quality control documentation in Ice Cream processing operations to produce Ice Cream products that consistently meet specifications.
A Break Relief is responsible for the operating of the ice cream filler and shrink wrap maintaining traceability in accordance to the Master Batch Record and to applicable SOPs while ensuring good documentation practices are followed.
He or she is also responsible for filling in on all roles while breaks are occurring.
Key Duties:
- Set-up all equipment associated with the applicable machine being used in accordance to all applicable SOPs related to sanitary condition, cleanliness, and equipment condition.
- Place packaging materials into proper staging conditions and follow all applicable SOPs for staging and transfer of containers in a food safe manner maintaining product quality, traceability and security of materials.
- Monitor ice cream filler outputs and make required adjustments to speed, valve cut-off timing, lidding, and coding to maintain product specifications.
- Works closely with freezer operator to control fill and weight requirements as specified on the PIR.
- Stage for transfer back into raw materials inventory the balances of packaging materials from the production lines to the warehouse(s) in a food safe manner maintaining accuracy of inventory.
- Tasks include housekeeping, general sanitation and product quality assessment responsibilities throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain the integrity of the quality system.
- Be engaged in the day-to-day running of the business by performing tasks beyond normal/baseline job responsibilities, participating in team or business improvement meetings and initiatives positioned toward improving business results.
Minimum Skills Requirements:
- High school education or equivalency.
- Must have previous food industry line experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate equipment efficiently and safely.
- Demonstrated ability to execute safe work practices & behaviors.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of personnel individually or in a team environment and ability to interface and communicate with production line workers and area managers.
- Demonstrated willingness to work any shift, weekends and holidays.
- Demonstrated willingness to adhere to cGMP requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires the ability to pass drug screens utilizing hair testing and partner to provide a drug-free, healthful and safe work environment.
Position may involve standing for extended periods of times.
Position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds to the waist, good visual accuracy, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, effective verbal communication skills.
Position requires overhead reaching with loads of less than 5 pounds.
