POSITION TITLE: Corporate Purchasing Manager (CPM)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Corporate Purchasing Manager maintains the records of goods that are ordered and received. The CPM prepares purchase orders, solicitations of bid proposals, and reviews requisitions are done in an efficient manner. The CPM manages the initial contact, relationship, and maintenance of a vendor with the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work with the vendors to ensure the company catalog is maintained/updated with the best market pricing.
- Maintain a detailed record of all purchases including quantities, shipping, and cost.
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
- Properly maintain relationships with vendors for competitive and low pricing.
- Implement new or improved supply chain processes.
- Prepare accurate and completed Purchase orders (POs)
- Assists the accounting department in correcting discrepancies found on invoices.
- Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
- Review and keep track of all rentals
- Stay in contact with any vendors calling regarding POs
- Utilize the company Purchase Order process in alignment with company standards.
- Oversees all subordinates' areas of control and work-related tasks
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of five years experience a purchasing agent or related position
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience in BSM platform, Coupa preferred
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Associated degree or higher preferred or equivalent experience
