What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telecom Business Analyst position at Turning Point Global Solutions?
Turning Point Global Solutions is seeking an experienced Telecom Business Analyst that will be a member of the NiOS Product team responsible for business requirements, testing, training, and support for federal government customers using TurningPoint’s proprietary Network Inventory and Optimization Solution (NiOSâ). NiOS is an enterprise level Telecom Life Cycle Management system, licensed to government agencies. It provides value by providing a single source for all their telecom contracts, inventory, and ordering. In addition, it is used to audit telecom bills and optimize telecom spend.
Candidate will work within the Product team responsible for TurningPoint’s NiOS product. As a Telecom Business Analyst, the candidate will work under the direction of the product manager to assist with process definition and improvement, analysis and documentation of business system requirements for the NiOS product. The candidate will also assist the team with functional and user acceptance testing, provide internal team demonstrations and training of the product in support of the Service Delivery teams responsible for each NiOS customer.
Customer engagements cover all aspects of telecom, including wireline, wireless, satellite, equipment, licenses, security, and professional services. A proficiency in one or more of these areas, and experience in the federal telecom and contracting environment is important to being successful in this role and being able to provide value quickly.
Responsibility:
- Work as a part of NiOS team to provide support to Service Delivery and customers
- Understand telecom service ordering, inventory management and invoice reconciliation in NiOS
- Document and define business processes and requirements
- Perform system testing to identify any issues, document and track through resolution
- Provide internal training and demonstrations of the product to the Service Delivery teams
Required Skills:
- MUST be a US CITIZEN
- 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Telecom, Business or a related field
- Experience and familiarity with web-based applications
- Ability to identify, analyze, and document business requirements, applying critical thinking to translate user needs into business and system requirements
- Participate in recurring and ad-hoc meetings with Product team to understand business needs, define processes and requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail
- Understanding of testing and troubleshooting; Identify issues and new requirements and track them to resolution
- Serve as a Point of Contact for Service Delivery support questions
- Use of MS Products: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio
- Ability to work with multiple cross functional teams
- Must be able to work with minimal day to day supervision and re-prioritize work effort to meet shifting deadlines
Desired Skills/Certifications:
- Proficiency with data analysis and billing analysis
- Experience with GSA contracts, telecom carrier web portals and understanding of government contract process is a plus
- A quick learner with a high level of personal motivation and enthusiasm
