Platte Valley and Northeast Nebraska’s leading Internet Service Provider focused on bringing fast / affordable Internet service across our service area. Turnkey Nerds is a Managed Service Provider that provides IT Support to the Blair and Omaha areas. Technical Magic is a Managed Wi-Fi provider serving apartments and condos in Nebraska and South Dakota.
Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain Managed Wi-Fi services working directly with property managers and tenants.
- Provision and configure customer premise equipment such as Fiber ONT’s, Fixed Wireless CPE’s, and SOHO routers.
- Assist in configuration of 1/10Gigabit switches and routers.
- Assist in configuration of 5GHz / 6GHz / 11 GHz / 60 GHz wireless backhaul radios.
- Troubleshoot and repair Wi-Fi signal issues.
- Respond to trouble reports and effectively resolve customer issues.
- Install and terminate Ethernet and Coaxial cabling in multi-tenant dwellings.
- Provision and configure video surveillance cameras and systems.
- Assist with video surveillance system installations including testing and pointing cameras.
- Schedule installation of Managed Wi-Fi services with tenants.
- Correction and repair of business Internet service.
- Tier 2 Support for all broadband services.
- After hours On-call Tier 2 support.
- Maintain an inventory of equipment and tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.
Skills:
- Equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Detailed record keeping.
- Ability to install cabling in customer locations including homes and businesses.
- Ability to work with technology including Wi-Fi Networks.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Basic understanding of IPv4 Subnets.
- Basic understanding of VLANS.
- Basic understanding of routing and switching.
- Work in a safe manner at all times.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to report during business hours to an office in Blair or Norfolk, Nebraska.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Valid US driver’s license.
- Able to be on-call no more than 2 weeks out of every 6 weeks.
- Prior installation and repair, IT or networking experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An associate degree or equivalent experience in Networking, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2 years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
- 2 years’ experience on current network operating systems
