About our team
The Paris team is Turo’s newest engineering team and the first one to be based outside of the United States. The team is currently working on the migration and integration of OuiCar toward the Turo global platform. Thereafter, the team will transition their focus on this growing global Turo car sharing platform.
The Turo Engineering Team is composed of teams focused on the product on one hand and teams focused on the platform as the SRE team on the other hand.
We are looking for a Senior DevOps / SRE Engineer to help us build functional systems that improve customer experience.
As a member of the SRE team part of the Platform teams, your role will be to build the platform running the softwares developed by Product teams. It will include among others, deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet customer needs. You will assist the engineering team as well on their day-to-day work by ensuring run tasks and building tools.
Ultimately, you will execute and automate operational processes fast, accurately and securely.
What you will do
- Help us build the strategy and product roadmap for all site reliability efforts.
- Help us improve the overall operational health of our software.
- Use your skills to raise the technical bar and guide architectural judgments.
- Establish monitoring and alerting production systems to enable observability using SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
- Lead chaos engineering efforts and help automate the process.
- Participate in on-call rotation and lead initiatives on incident management, root cause analysis, postmortem, and document your findings into run-books to improve site availability.
- Help us hire talent in the SRE space and mentor them.
Your profile
- Be comfortable with daily oral and written English
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
- 6 years of experience in infrastructure and cloud-based systems.
- Experience supporting infrastructure and services in one or many public cloud environments (AWS required, Azure, GCP, OCI)
- Strong computer science fundamentals: networking, databases, and distributed systems.
- Fluent in at least one language: Python, Ruby, or Go.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure As Code (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Chef).
- Experience with logging, monitoring and alerting systems and tools.
- Good understanding of information security best practices.
- Enjoy solving problems and helping others meet their goals.
- Experience with observability, disaster recovery, and incident management
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and container orchestration using Kubernetes
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools used to manage those.
- Strong synthesizing and analytical skills
