Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Athletic Director to oversee our elementary and middle school athletic programs for the 2024-2025 school year, and ensure the success and growth of our student-athletes. The Athletic Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of our athletic department, including coordinating schedules, overseeing coaching staff, and promoting a positive and inclusive athletic culture.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the athletic department to enhance student-athlete performance and success
- Coordinate and schedule athletic events, practices, and competitions
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate coaching staff
- Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies governing athletics
- Foster a positive and inclusive athletic culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth
- Collaborate with other departments to support student-athletes' academic success
- Manage the athletic department budget and allocate resources effectively
- Oversee facility maintenance and improvements to provide a safe and functional environment for athletes
- Promote community engagement through outreach programs and partnerships
Experience:
- Higher education teaching experience in sports-related fields
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of sports administration principles and practices
- Familiarity with rules and regulations governing athletics at the elementary and middle school levels
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including students, coaches, faculty, staff, parents, and community members
Education:
- Coaching license
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management or related field (preferred)
We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule as you will be going to games in the afternoons and occasionally on a Saturday.
