Generator Shop Technician
Position Overview:
We are a 100% employee-owned company with an extremely impressive growth history! The Shop Technician will service, repair, assemble new generators, and perform related shop assignments. Whether you are an experienced Generator Technician, a mechanic looking to advance your career, or just someone who likes getting your hands dirty working on engines, this could be the perfect role for you!
Reporting Relationship: The Generator Shop Technician reports to the Shop Supervisor
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
· Service and repair generators
· Assemble new generators
· Load and unload customer's equipment
· Talk with customers about repairs needed and done to equipment
· Perform on site field service and repairs
· Fill out service documents
· Coordinate with sales on new units
· Coordinate with parts for services and repairs
· Clean the shop and work areas
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Skills/Knowledge
· Basic mechanical knowledge
· Basic electrical knowledge with the ability to read a schematic
· Basic knowledge of how to operate a multi-meter
· Ability to weld, operate angle grinders, plasma cutters, and fuel torches
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, and crouch for extended periods
· Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
· Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and service body cranes
· Ability to drive a service truck
· Ability to use hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, and pry bars
· Ability to use power tools, both battery powered and pneumatic
