Manufacturing Controller Description
Our client in production and manufacturing is looking for a Controller to add to their team near Novi, MI. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities while managing a small team; this role will manage financial operations, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, and will work closely with the President to develop financial strategies and support business decisions. To be successful in the role, you must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Manufacturing Controller Responsibilities
Oversee accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, GL, inventory and job costing
Prepare financial budgets, P&L, audits, forecasting, and financial reporting
Review all revenues, product cost, and expenses
Manage a team of staff accountants, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
Analyze financial performance; provide insights and recommendations for improvement
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
Ensure financial transactions are recorded timely, accurately and in compliance
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Present financial reports, highlighting key performance indicators and variances
Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making
Manufacturing Controller Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
7 years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing required
2 years of management experience required
Experience Preparing Financial Statements And Balance Sheets Required
Experience with financial reporting and cost analysis required
Knowledge of WIP and costing of inventory required
Proficient with accounting software, ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
