What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Associate II, Biopharma position at Twist Bioscience?
We are looking for an outstanding Manufacturing Associate II to join our Biopharma Libraries team. The Manufacturing Associate II will support production of a variety of library products using molecular biology techniques. The ideal candidate will be driven and willing to learn new skills. This position will support processes including high-throughput combinatorial library generation, high-throughput cloning processes, custom molecular biology, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), etc. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, be very organized, have excellent molecular biology knowledge and skills, be able to maintain detailed documentation, and communicate effectively with peers/management.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or closely-related field, or 1-3 years relevant experience
- Execution of molecular biology techniques including DNA purification, DNA quantification, PCR, NGS library prep, and cloning.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills. Proficient in writing and communicating in the English language.
- Dynamic interpersonal skills. Respectful and open to others’ views; contribute to building a positive team spirit.
- High attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Required for MA II Level
- 1-3 years lab experience
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Be able to follow standard SOPs and MBRs
- Some familiarity with PCR, molecular cloning, and plasmid preparation
- Experience with Excel, Word, Jira/Confluence (Atlassian), SnapGene, and other similar programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multiple methods of DNA assembly (restriction enzyme digestion/ligation, golden gate cloning. Gibson assembly)
- Familiarity with NGS library prep
- Familiarity with a manufacturing environment or lab automation
Shift Hours: Monday – Friday (8-hour day shift)
