ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NOURISH – JOB POSTING

Position Summary
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Nourish Assistant Director at the Two Rivers YMCA assists with the ongoing development and operations of the Nourish and other nutritional programs, and designs practices, processes, and procedures for strong program and project management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, assisting with establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Assists with recruiting, hiring and training a diverse staff and volunteer teams.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within the area of responsibility.
- Assists with managing the program, including assisting with monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling accurate program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in the program.
- Assists with securing and scheduling the needed supplies and staff.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe working environment and directing the work of staff.
Position Expectations
- Assist with monthly menu development that complies with USDA year-round food program guidelines.
- Establish daily pars for food preparations and distribution.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and proper storage.
- Assist with food preparations and demonstrate proper food preparation techniques.
- Clean and sanitize work areas daily.
- Receive and make daily deliveries.
- Sets the standard for proper uniform.
- Supervise staff and assist with training.
Supervisor Responsibilities
Responsible for supervising program participants, and be a primary responder in the event of an emergency. Assist in the training and supervision of program staff.
Requirements
Minimum Criteria for Candidates
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to two years related experience preferred.
- One year of supervisory experience.
- Valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance
- Minimum age of 21.
- Within 30 days of hire, completion of Food Sanitation Certification, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training.
- YMCA Team Leader certification preferred.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Position Classification & Hours
Full-Time Non-Exempt
Approximately 40 hours per week, typically Monday-Friday between 6:30am-5:00pm.
Hiring Salary
$16.00 per hour
