POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Director of Business and Industry Partnerships works with leaders in the School of Continuing Studies, leaders within TJC and regional leaders of business and industry to develop and deliver high-demand training programs. The director is responsible for ensuring great customer experiences at all stages of engagement.
The director oversees the planning and implementation of workforce development initiatives including on-campus and off-site training programs, workshops and post-training evaluations and continuous improvement activities. The director oversees a Business and Industry Development Manager and leads by example in calling on prospective and existing clients. The director will join a sales and marketing team within the School of Continuing Studies and assist with marketing initiatives and guiding business and industry sales strategies.

  • Performs workforce market assessments through surveys, face-to-face meetings, and data trend analysis. Collaborates with senior leaders to develop programs that address the market.

· Conducts gap analyses of our business and industry marketing practices. Recommends solutions to close gaps.

  • Markets portfolio of professional development programs to area businesses and industries. Responsible for building sales networks and utilizing those networks to meet profit and loss goals.
  • Responsible for maintaining accountability and sound fiscal management.
  • Recommends for hire, supervises, trains, and evaluates the business and industry partnership staff.
  • Supports senior leaders within Continuing Studies and TJC and works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver results.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and effective reporting tools. Will provide routine and on-demand quantitative and qualitative data as needed to enhance a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on leadership in all areas of Continuing Studies business and industry partnerships including marketing, branding, sales cycle, customized training, grant-based training and post-engagement service and support.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Provide sales leadership by maintaining a database of qualified prospects, systematically calling on those prospects and overseeing the sales activities of a program development manager.

  • Working knowledge of social media marketing strategies, consultative selling and leading by example in a sales environment.
  • Working knowledge of CRM databases, Microsoft Office Suite and performance coaching.
  • Ability to generate and sustain leads, take initiative with key tasks and follow-through with detailed reporting requirements.
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Possesses a clear vision of goals, strategic planning and tactical decision-making.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once.

  • Team player with the ability to collaborate with all college departments, functions, and other support services.

QUALIFICATIONS*
Required Education/Experience
Undergraduate degree in related field. Ten years of sales and relationship management experience required with at least three years of managing other sales team members.
Preferred Education/Experience
Graduate degree in related field and fifteen years of corporate sales experience preferred.
