We are looking for a dental assistant/office administrative assistant to join our team! Position will be full time, 2 years of previous dental experience is required. While working together with the rest of our office staff to provide top notch care, you will ensure patients are well cared for during their visit to the office! We perform a wide variety of work, from general restorative to surgery, sedation and implants. Administrative responsibilities will include answering phones, scheduling appointments, working with insurance, collections, etc. Ability to work efficiently and as a self-starter are must have skills! We work M-Th from 8:00am-5:00pm (last patient wraps up at 5:00'ish, then we work to get out as soon as possible). Pay is BOE. Paid training and professional development provided. Our assistants are big assets to our team and play a critical role in our success as an office. We work hard to train and treat you as such!
Responsibilities
- Assisting the doctor
- Review and discuss treatment with patients
- Review financials/insurance with patients
- Cross train with front and back office staff
- Schedule appointments
- Assist patients with any questions/concerns they may have
- Answer telephone
- Collect Payment
- Insurance verification and follow-up
- Assist hygienists
- Take care of dental office maintenance tasks
- Stock rooms
- Order supplies
- Sterilize instruments
- Complete lab forms
- Take x-rays
- Pack cord
- Make temporary crowns
- Isolate for fillings
- Welcome customers in the dental office
- Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Assist the dentist with 4-6 handed dentistry
- Provide oral hygiene and post/pre-operative care instructions
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
